This free tool lets you batch watermark photos right in your browser. Add a text mark, a logo, or both, and the tool applies them to up to 100 photos in one batch, with a result card for each photo. Photos are read and processed inside the page and are never uploaded, and no sign-up is needed.

If you sell on online marketplaces, you may want to add a watermark to photos before you upload them, or mark a whole set of product shots at once. Each photo gets its own card showing its original size, output size, file size, and any notes, so you can check the numbers before you download. Nothing is sent anywhere while you work.

How to use the Batch Watermark Photos tool

  1. Make sure “Add a watermark” is switched on. It is on by default.
  2. Type your mark into “Watermark text”. The default is “© Your shop”, up to 60 characters. Clear the box if you only want a logo.
  3. Optional: under “Logo image (optional)”, choose an image file. A PNG with a transparent background works best.
  4. Pick a spot from “Position”. There are nine positions, and the default is Bottom right.
  5. Set “Text size (% of the short side)” (default 5), “Opacity (%)” (default 60), and “Text colour” (White or Black).
  6. Tick “Repeat across the photo” if you want the text tiled diagonally across the whole photo.
  7. Choose a size from the “Output size” menu. “Keep the original size” is our default, with “Never enlarge small photos” ticked. The other choice is “Keep the shape, longest side 2000 px”.
  8. Choose a file type. JPEG is the default, and PNG and WebP are also offered.
  9. Add photos with “Choose photos” or by dropping files on the box. You can add up to 100 photos per batch. To try the tool first, use “Try a sample photo”.
  10. Check each card for its “Original”, “Output size”, and “File” sizes, plus any notes.
  11. Click “Download” on a single card, or “Download ZIP (first 10)” when two or more photos are ready.

Use “Clear all” to empty the list and start a new batch.

Does a watermark stop people copying my photos?

No. A watermark is a visible mark, and it does not stop anyone copying a photo. It can show who the photo belongs to, but it does not block a copy. Plan on watermarks as a visible label, not as protection.

Marketplace rules also matter. eBay’s picture policy does not allow watermarks of any kind on listing photos. Vinted says not to use stock or watermarked images found online, and that rule is about pictures taken from the internet. Check each marketplace’s current rules before you add a mark to listing photos.

Where should a watermark go on a photo?

Use “Position” to choose one of nine spots. The default is Bottom right, which keeps the mark away from the centre of the picture. Choose a spot that suits your photo and your style.

“Repeat across the photo” is a different choice. It tiles the text diagonally across the whole photo, so the mark covers the image rather than sitting in one corner. Use it when a single corner mark is too easy to crop away.

How big will the watermark be on my photo?

Text size is set as a percentage of the photo’s shorter side, using “Text size (% of the short side)”. The default is 5. Because the size follows the shorter side, the mark scales with each photo in the batch.

The logo is drawn at 20% of the photo’s shorter side, at the position you choose, and with the opacity you set in “Opacity (%)”. The default opacity is 60. Text and logo can be used together.

What output size should my photos be?

“Keep the original size” is our default, with “Never enlarge small photos” ticked. This keeps the photo at its original dimensions and does not enlarge small photos. The other option, “Keep the shape, longest side 2000 px”, is a size in this tool’s menu. It is not a marketplace requirement.

Here is how the tool handles that option. A 4,000 × 3,000 px photo becomes 2,000 × 1,500 px. A 3,000 × 4,000 px photo becomes 1,500 × 2,000 px. The tool does not supply marketplace sizes. Where a marketplace publishes a size, check its help page, and read the date on that page.

If a photo is enlarged to reach the output size, its card says by how many percent. An enlarged photo has no extra detail, so the card makes that visible.

What happens to the photo data when I save with a watermark?

Saving through the tool writes a new file without the original’s camera, date, and location (EXIF) data. Photos with an EXIF rotation are drawn the right way up. HEIC photos from an iPhone may not open outside Safari; if yours does not, export it as JPEG first.

“Keep each file under” lowers the JPEG or WebP quality until the file fits. If quality alone is not enough, it shrinks the pixels in steps. PNG files cannot be shrunk this way, so the limit is not applied to PNG, and the tool says so.

Frequently asked questions

Can I batch watermark more than 100 photos at once?

Not in one batch. The tool accepts up to 100 photos per batch, so work through larger sets in groups. Use “Clear all” between batches to empty the list.

Does the tool upload my photos?

No. Photos are read and processed inside the browser and are never uploaded. The tool is free and needs no sign-up.

Can I use a logo and text together?

Yes. Add text in “Watermark text” and choose a file under “Logo image (optional)”. The logo is drawn at 20% of the photo’s shorter side, at the chosen position.

Will a watermark protect my photos from being copied?

No. A watermark is a visible mark and does not stop anyone copying a photo. It can label your work, but it is not a barrier.

Can I use watermarked photos on eBay or Vinted?

Check the rules first. eBay’s picture policy does not allow watermarks of any kind on listing photos. Vinted says not to use stock or watermarked images found online, which is about pictures taken from the internet.

Why is my PNG output not under the file size limit?

PNG files cannot be shrunk by lowering quality, so the “Keep each file under” limit is not applied to PNG. The tool says so on the card. Use JPEG or WebP if you need the limit applied.

Why does my output photo look bigger than my original?

The “Output size” you chose may be larger than the original photo. The tool enlarges the photo to reach that size and the card says by how many percent. Choose “Keep the original size” with “Never enlarge small photos” ticked to avoid enlargement.
