This free batch tool resizes your photos to a chosen etsy listing photo size, right in your browser. Add up to 100 photos at once and each one is redrawn at the output size you pick, with checks against Etsy’s published figures shown on every result. The default, 4:3 landscape at 2667 × 2000 px, is our own choice rather than an Etsy rule, although it follows Etsy’s advice to prefer horizontal photos and a 4:3 ratio. Photos are read and processed inside the page and are never uploaded. The tool is free and needs no sign-up. Etsy’s help page returned an error to automated reads on 16 October 2026, so the figures used here come from a saved copy dated 5 January 2026.

How to use this Etsy image resizer

Click “Choose photos” or drop files onto the box. A batch can hold up to 100 photos. To try the tool without a file, click “Try a sample photo”.
Open the “Output size” menu. The options are “4:3 landscape, 2667 × 2000 px” (the default), “Square, 2000 × 2000 px”, “3:2 landscape, 3000 × 2000 px” and “16:9 landscape, 3556 × 2000 px”. For another size, choose “Custom size…” and enter “Width (px)” and “Height (px)”.
Under “How the photo fits the frame”, pick “Keep the whole photo (add background around it)” to avoid cropping, or “Fill the frame (cut off the overflow)” to fill the frame. With the fill option, set “Crop focus” to Centre, Top, Bottom, Left or Right.
Tick “Never enlarge small photos” if you do not want small photos enlarged to the output size.
Set “Keep each file under” in KB or MB if you need a file-size limit. The tool lowers JPEG or WebP quality until the file fits. PNG cannot be shrunk this way, so the limit is not applied to PNG and the tool says so.
Read each card. It shows “Original” size, “Output size” and “File” size, plus any notes or checks such as the shorter-side check, the 2000 px recommendation, the 1 MB warning and the file type warning.
Click “Download” on each card. When two or more photos are ready, “Download ZIP (first 10)” appears, and the ZIP holds the first 10 results.

The tool recalculates every photo when you change an option. “Clear all” empties the list.

What is the etsy listing photo size Etsy recommends?

Etsy’s help page recommends a width and height of at least 2000 px for listing photos. For the first listing photo, it gives a minimum of 635 px for the shorter side, which the page says helps avoid ranking lower in search.

These numbers come from a saved copy of the help page dated 5 January 2026, because the live page returned an error to automated reads on 16 October 2026. Check the live page before you rely on them. The same page also gives other limits. Files over 1 MB may not finish uploading on a slow connection, so the tool warns above that size. Etsy accepts only .jpg, .gif and .png files, and animated GIFs and transparent PNGs are not supported. Transparent areas appear black on Etsy, so the tool fills them with the background colour you choose and the output never has transparency. Etsy converts images to sRGB, and CMYK is for print only.

Which etsy photo aspect ratio should a listing photo use?

The first listing photo should be horizontal (landscape) or square, and it sets the shape of the photos that follow. For thumbnails, Etsy suggests an aspect ratio of 4:3, advises leaving a border so a square thumbnail crop keeps the product, and says to avoid square crops. The tool’s 4:3 default follows that advice, but it is our choice rather than an Etsy requirement.

The tool’s layout code shows how the frame changes a photo. A 4,000 × 3,000 photo placed in a 2,667 × 2,000 frame with “Keep the whole photo (add background around it)” is drawn at 2,667 × 2,000 px, with no bars. A 3,000 × 4,000 portrait photo in the same frame is drawn at 1,500 × 2,000 px, with 584 px bars left and right. A 4,000 × 3,000 photo with a longest side of 2,000 px becomes 2,000 × 1,500 px.

When a photo is enlarged to reach the output size, its card says by how many percent. An enlarged photo has no extra detail, so that figure tells you how much of the size comes from stretching. With the fill option, “Crop focus” decides which part of the photo stays in the frame.

Frequently asked questions

Is 2667 × 2000 px required by Etsy?

No. It is the tool’s default 4:3 frame, with both sides above Etsy’s 2000 px recommendation.

What file types does Etsy allow for listing photos?

The Etsy help page lists .jpg, .gif and .png files only. The tool’s output options also include WebP, which that list does not mention, so check the type you pick against the live page.

Can I resize many photos for Etsy at once?

Do my photos get uploaded when I use this tool?

No. Photos are read and processed inside the browser and are never uploaded. The tool needs no sign-up and is free. Saved files also drop the camera, date and location (EXIF) data.

Why do transparent areas show as black on Etsy?

The Etsy help page says transparent areas appear black on Etsy. The tool fills transparent areas with the background colour you choose, so the file it writes has none.
